This should be green, if it turns yellow or red frequently you may need to lower your streaming bitrate in settings. While you're streaming, you'll see a data health / bitrate indicator in the bottom right hand corner. Double check by going to in your web browser and check that Twitch is receiving your live stream. Now when you click on the stream button, your data should be sent to the Twitch service. In recent versions, you can set it up easily by clicking on the connect account button which will prompt you to login with your user name and password for the service. Click on stream and make sure it's set to twitch (or YouTube if you prefer). To setup streaming, go to file and settings. OBS will automatically snap it to the corners. To customize your webcam position, click on the red points around the boundaries and drag them inwards to shrink it and click and hold somewhere inside the boundaries to drag and move it to where you want it to be. Then you can type in or select your resolution from the drop down list in Resolution. If the resolution isn't immediately correct, change Resolution / FPS Type from Device Default to Custom. When you get to the properties window, select your device from the drop down menu. In sources, optionally add in a Video Capture Device source for your webcam. The game must be open for it to show in the list of available windows. Select the mode you prefer but generally I will do Capture Specific Window and select the game I want to record from the drop down list. In sources, add both a game capture source (Right Click -> Add -> Game Capture). Let's do a simple setup for streaming to Ĭreate a new scene in the bottom left hand corner.
